Formulation & Energy

Formulation & Energy

In June 2022, the European Commission approved a package of measures called "fit for 55". Its aim is placing the continent at the forefront of the energy transition. Among these measures, there is a recasting of the carbon market, doubling renewable energies, developing alternative fuels and the associated infrastructure. This thematic session seeks to highlight the formulation of biofuels and technologies associated with less energy-consuming processes in the formulation of every day products, among others.

Formulation & Climate

Formulation & Climate

Climate is the set of atmospheric conditions specific to a place. Climate change is happening: more intense heat waves, acidification of oceans, longer fire seasons, among others. Decision-making to reduce greenhouse gas emissions involves understanding this issue and how formulation can provide solutions. This thematic session includes an understanding of the physico-chemical phenomena that influence climate (i.e. the importance of aerosols in clouds formation) and the role of formulation in new technologies for CO2 sequestration.

Formulation & Sustainability

Formulation & Sustainability

The awareness of citizens and governments to ensure the sustainable development of our societies makes industry and academia propose real solutions beyond “greenwashing”. This session aims to highlight recent advances in terms of innovative raw materials, biodegradability, circular economy, recycling and processes related to the use of wastes in formulation in order to answer the substitution challenges for cleaner and safer products.

Formulation & Artificial intelligence

Formulation & Artificial intelligence

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is being used more and more to perform various tasks in Research and Development. The latest advances in drug formulation have demonstrated the interest of employing AI in overall field of formulation to reduce production time and costs for the development of new product. The goal of this session is to provide a forum for scientific and technical exchanges for researchers and industries to discuss latest advances in the development (methodology, prediction, optimization…) of AI for formulation or reformulation.

Formulation & Life sciences

Formulation & Life sciences

Formulation in Life Sciences is devoted in a very broad range of applications: biotechnology, fine chemistry, cosmetics, pharmaceutics, biomedical devices. This very competitive R&D domain is in a permanent evolution and presents a strong social and societal stake when these innovations lead to the creation of safer, healthier and more sustainable products. This session welcomes scientists from different fields to discuss the latest developments, challenges and opportunities in this exciting area of research.

Formulation & Physicochemistry

Formulation & Physicochemistry

Physicochemistry is a key domain of Research in the understanding and interpretation of the elaboration processes and behavior of formulated products from both fundamental and applied point of view. The session theme is broadly interested in addressing current challenges in understanding the physicochemical aspects and rationalization in the development of formulation processes, description or development of characterizations of formulated products and phenomena description.

Nanoformulation

Nanoformulation

Nanoformulation is an interdisciplinary field used to elaborate nanoscale particles, materials or systems with innovative properties and functions. Its application is wide-ranging and includes areas such as medicine, engineering, cosmetics, computing, and energy production. This section aims to explain some of the many challenges in the nanotechnology field: technical and also about safety risks, regulatory framework, cost and scalability.
